Hello.
My wife and I are planning to build a house soon, and our main concern right now is the exterior staircase. I would prefer a steel staircase (mainly for cost reasons and because it doesn’t need to be renovated as often). However, my wife is strongly against it because she thinks the grating treads can become very slippery in winter (which is not entirely wrong). Can anyone with experience advise how to prevent this or suggest good alternatives?

or if there are any good alternatives?

Hello,
I assume this is not about a basement exterior staircase, right?
