Hello,
I am about to finalize a contract with DWW for converting my oil heating system to a heat pump. Does anyone have experience with DWW (German Heat Pump Works – reliability, keeping promises, quick response to faults, etc.)?

Think about it: what kind of experience do you expect from a company that has only been around for about a year?

Thank you, you are of course right, but it was worth a try.

Before making such a conversion, get advice—but not from the companies that install the systems themselves, as they tend to sugarcoat everything and you end up footing the bill later.

Viessmann offers a calculator that estimates the heat pump capacity based on your oil consumption and predicts the future electricity usage. There are often unpleasant surprises with this.

I’m also active in other heat pump forums and often see how disappointed people are when they end up paying two to three times more.

Hello tomtom79,
thank you for your reply. So far, we have consumed 6,000 liters (1,585 gallons) of oil per year. The DWW representative calculated a heat pump with 14 kW AERO 2 Duo Comfort Silent Pro 2 XL and 5 indoor units AERO 2 DUO Comfort, as well as a domestic hot water tank Hydro Core M 190 liters (50 gallons). Annual performance factor 4.9, area 330 m² (3,552 sq ft).

50% KfW subsidy for a maximum of 30,000, so 15,000 according to DWW.
Fixed Price (this would include everything) 36,000 € minus KfW subsidy, so I end up at 21,000 €. Actually, I should receive 55% funding on the total amount (some people here in Thuringia think so; I live on the top floor, with sloped walls, and the entire ground floor is rented commercially), with three separate entrances, but DWW says I wouldn’t get that.

The founders and operators are the same people behind Energiekonzepte Deutschland, also based in Taucha.
You might want to look into that.
There is a type of highly sales-driven company that always appears in industries involving large investments and subsidies or market deregulation. The most commission-driven salespeople move from sector to sector: life insurance → telecommunications → photovoltaic systems and energy storage → heat pumps...
There is nothing inherently wrong with that, but when it comes to the quality of consulting, I wouldn’t want to rely on luck.
