Hello everyone,

my name is Stephan and I am new to the forum. I already have a few questions 🙂

I will soon be repainting the exterior and would like to repaint the gable ends of my roof. Currently, they are stained brown with an acrylic glaze (if I trust the previous owner of the house). I would prefer a grey/anthracite tone, though. I just visited a specialist paint store, and they suggested the following products:

1. Light sanding with 120 grit sandpaper
2. Caparol adhesion primer
3. Caparol Capadur weather protection paint NQG

Is this a good approach? Will the wood be adequately protected?

Thank you very much in advance.

PS: I have uploaded a few pictures of the old paint finish

Yes. That is fine. Weather-resistant paints typically last around 10 years.
