How would you decide – a completely new residential development with 40 new building plots. However, it is on a north-facing slope. The plot at the very edge, on the outskirts of the town and at the end, is in our opinion the highest, but it has a small village road directly in front of it. On the other hand, it offers a free edge-of-town location with a wonderful wide view and sun from morning until evening. We would therefore have a garden (8 m) (26 feet) at the back (east side) available, as well as the other half of the garden (11 m) (36 feet) on the west side, where the side road bends (since it is a corner plot). But there is only one direct neighboring house – on the north side. Two sides have an open view (to the south, unfortunately only across the road).

Or alternatively – a plot “in the middle.” Here, the garden would face south, but there would also be 3, 4, or 5 new plots all around and the slope rising upwards (there is a 10 m (33 feet) height difference compared to the previously mentioned top plot).

Basically, we have always favored more distance, not so many neighbors close by, and really wanted a corner location. Yet the reactions so far have mostly been shocked: “Why right on the road??”

What do you think? How would you decide? We are confused and uncertain.

Thanks in advance.

Sunshine from morning until evening and a wide view would be worth it to me. Try standing on the plot during rush hour and see if the noise is bearable or if it is annoying.

One more factor: How densely populated is the area? Is there a highway nearby?
Any country road can quickly become a truck detour route.

Around KA, there are many villages that now suffer from under 200,000 cars every day. It was very different 50 years ago. The plots there are practically worthless.
