My name is Stephan, and I am 27 years old.
Starting mid-year, we will fulfill our dream by beginning a new construction project in a newly developed residential area.
I would like to share our current design with you and would really appreciate your comments, feedback, and criticism.
Maybe some of you have already built a house or are in the middle of building? What advice can you give us?
At the moment, I’m still considering how exactly we should lay out the living room. At first, using the sofa as a room divider seemed like a good idea, but now I feel that this option limits me too much. The idea is to replace the three narrow windows in the living room that face the dining area with a French door, so we can place the sofa in the corner.
I would be very happy to read your comments.

The layout is not well designed.
When standing at the sink, one-third of the house is blocked. The passage is a bottleneck, and the corridor to the freezer/storage room is much too long, especially considering it is used several times a day.
The furniture, such as the dining table, does not have realistic dimensions.
Your windows have not even been discussed here yet. These three might look nice for an effect, but with walls between the windows, you won’t really be able to have a proper view of the garden.
You would be better off in the Floor Plan Design subforum. There, you can also provide the questionnaire and include all floors as well as the site plan.

This drawing is an example and not the final house. The kitchen is basically not yet designed and was just roughly sketched in.
Regarding the three narrow windows: these are not facing the garden. The garden is only located behind the house. They are intended purely for an aesthetic effect and not to provide full visibility for the neighbor.
The storage room is only meant to be accessed when we are in the kitchen. The plan was to have it better concealed rather than located in the middle of the house.
