Hello,
We have purchased a plot of land in a new development area (500 sqm (5400 sq ft)). Now I am wondering about the best approach to building a house. We have not yet decided whether to go with a brick or solid construction. I also cannot say whether to aim for KfW 40 or a lower energy standard—it really depends on the extra cost. Should we first speak with an architect or a builder? How did you approach your project, and what would you have done differently to save trouble later on?
Best regards,

As a home builder, you don’t want to be part of the group that maximizes the house supplier’s profit 😉I always find what you say quite amusing.
Didn’t you just advise someone in another subforum to order the parquet flooring directly from the house supplier? They can’t really increase the margin any more than on such extra add-ons, right? It’s like with VW charging 250 EUR to activate a single bit in the control unit and enable 25 lines of code… they must be laughing all the way.
Does everything always have to be aimed at the least discerning?
If someone thinks the decoration comes included when buying a wall unit… well, there’s simply no helping them anymore—you just have to leave them behind.
