Hello,
I have occasionally read in the forum that windows and front doors are purchased from abroad (Poland, Slovenia, Bosnia, Kosovo, etc.)... and that some dealers are active here as well.
We are looking for a window supplier for a new semi-detached house project (construction starts in May 2026). Ideally, the supplier could also offer shading systems, insect screens, and window sills. A front door would be a plus.
We are currently looking for uPVC/aluminum windows and optionally wood/aluminum or Aluplast Wooddec/aluminum windows for the living areas.
I am familiar with the prices from our local providers and those from Fenstermaxx, with Fenstermaxx currently about 10–15% cheaper than the local ones.
I received an offer from Slovenia, which is priced somewhere between the local suppliers and Fenstermaxx – so not particularly cheap, but they do offer an installation service in Austria.
Can anyone recommend a company from Bosnia, Poland, Kosovo, etc.?
The construction site is in Austria, very close to the German border… almost southern Bavaria.

I fully accept that every installer deserves their hourly wage, even if it’s quite high, and a reasonable margin as well. But when the margin on a project of this size reaches 15,000 euros or more, that’s where it simply becomes unreasonable. As a supplier, one should also understand that homeowners don’t want to extend their loan repayments by one or two years just to allow two middlemen in Germany/Austria to buy a new Mercedes every year. However, that wasn’t the intention of my post to discuss this kind of issue. I’m specifically looking for suppliers and experiences with them. I don’t want to discuss that either. I can’t recommend any of our suppliers because they exclusively do not serve end customers (which is almost how you “identify” good manufacturers). My difficulties—in my experience as both a window manufacturer and later as a dealer—in finding reliable installers was never about their salary expectations. They simply get lost in the sheer number available on the market; among them, motorcycle mechanics are still the most skilled, but the majority are untrained laborers. It would have to be an enormous house for a 15,000 euro margin to remain on its windows (and anyone who can afford that kind of margin doesn’t need a loan to build).

Because the person with the car in front of the door employs workers and pays them.
I’m happy when my boss drives an A8, because that means the company is doing well. If he shows up with a Polo, then I have serious concerns...

Abenteuer9 Jan 2026 11:37You might want to try the company TECHNOTECK. They are located in southern Germany near Ulm. They offer windows made of PVC, wood, and aluminum at reasonable prices. The manufacturer country is Poland. They have all A-class profiles in their range (Veka, Schüco, etc.). My quote was very good.
