Hello,
Since we previously lived in a rental apartment and had nothing to do with the actual boiler, I have no knowledge in this area.

So, we bought a house in April, and yesterday the old heating system was replaced with a new Buderus system. We had it set to heat the house from 9:00 AM to 11:45 PM with a temperature of about 23°C (73°F), as we have a small child. At night, it should be lowered to 18°C (64°F). Now my question is: what role do the radiator valves play? At the moment, they are set to 4, but the temperature in the living room is only about 21°C (70°F). Do we need to set the valves to 5 to reach the intended 23°C (73°F)? That would seem most logical to me. And should we turn down the valves at night before going to bed (which wouldn’t really be necessary since the boiler already has a night setback and does this automatically)?

Thanks in advance!

PS: All thermostats on the radiators were also replaced, and the hydraulic balancing was done as well.

The heating system regulates the flow temperature using an outdoor sensor.

No, not really. Only set to the ventilation setting ("star") during airing. Otherwise, keep it at a comfortable temperature.

Thank you.

And what about during the day? Should the thermostats be set to 5 so that the intended and preset temperature in the boiler is reached?

Does anyone else have any ideas?

Don’t thermostats regulate the temperature directly? Like setting 3 equals 20°C (68°F), 4 equals 24°C (75°F), and 5 stands for 28°C (82°F) room temperature.
