Hello,

we built a prefabricated house with Bien-Zenker, using timber frame construction. Now we have a painter whom we are no longer satisfied with. At first, everything was great and he kept saying, "we’ll manage, no problem," but now we have issues.

Previously, everyone told us to definitely use paint fleece and silicate paint. We also asked several painting companies, and all of them recommended this. Now that everything is finished, the painter in charge says all this “bio stuff” is no good, which is why the result is not so good. He blames the paint.

Specifically, you can see, for example, the strips where the roller was passed. There are lumps in the paint everywhere, and the texture of the fleece is also very rough. The worst issue is that in some rooms, you can see the joints of the Knauf Hardboard panels through the wallpaper.

The following products were used:

- conpart Groundvlies Plus 4090
- Conpart Wall Filler 1024
- Conpart Fleece Adhesive 1031
- Conpart Silicate Concentrate LF 1001
- Conpart Bio Interior Silicate Elf 3060

The walls are Knauf Hardboard.

Does all this fit together? Or where could the mistake be?

Could you please upload a photo? A close-up shot would be best.

The professional painters can be quite strange. I recently had a similar discussion about surface unevenness. Someone even said, "You don’t light walls with a floodlight at an angle anymore!" However, I insisted that the wall be redone—and now it looks very good! So, if it already bothers you and you’ve probably spent a lot of money, stay persistent and try to have a conversation about it. Has he selected the paint?

If you want to touch up certain areas yourself, I recommend using a round brush to paint over the “streaks” and then dab the area—kind of like gently tapping the freshly painted surface with a hammer. This helps to fill in where the paint was missing, and the dabbing breaks up the texture so the eye no longer notices any patterns.
EDIT: DISCLAIMER: “At your own risk 😉”
