ᐅ Installation of Network Outlets

Hello everyone,

I am currently looking at a townhouse (end unit) that I would like to buy.

Unfortunately, the house does not have network outlets installed. I would like to add them later. I am not familiar with this topic.

The house was built in 2002, and in my opinion, it would not make sense to completely rewire the electrical system.

Is there another way to install the network outlets? For example, using cable trunking / cable ducts? Has anyone here done something like this before? If so, does anyone possibly have pictures?

Thank you very much for your help.

Best regards

Chasing is really a very messy job, but plastering so that you can't see it anymore is not difficult. Since this is a used property: pay attention to boxing/cladding (such as ledges, often in corners); maybe there are pipe or other utility shafts that can be used to run the cables upward.

Ok, I will definitely try that. Thanks in advance for your feedback. Has anyone done this using a cable duct / cable trunking?

Underfloor heating?

For our first T-DSL connection (768 kbit YEAH!!), I set up a mini network in a terraced house using cable ducts. The riser pipe was installed as a round conduit in the stairwell, then routed along the ceiling corner, drilled through the wall, and so on.
It works, as long as you don’t have any high expectations.

No underfloor heating. Do you perhaps have any pictures? Unfortunately, I can’t find anything online. I don’t have high expectations. I just don’t want it to be very visible.

No sorry, that was over 15 years ago – digital cameras didn’t exist yet.

If you don’t have underfloor heating, you might be able to drill through the ceiling, so you only have a short vertical slot up to the junction box above.
