Hello everyone,
I am currently looking at a townhouse (end unit) that I would like to buy.
Unfortunately, the house does not have network outlets installed. I would like to add them later. I am not familiar with this topic.
The house was built in 2002, and in my opinion, it would not make sense to completely rewire the electrical system.
Is there another way to install the network outlets? For example, using cable trunking / cable ducts? Has anyone here done something like this before? If so, does anyone possibly have pictures?
Thank you very much for your help.
Best regards

If you’re not familiar with this, at least have someone from your circle of friends who has some experience in this area help out. It’s not exactly rocket science, but there are many things to consider, as you’ll want a fully functional network in the end, right?
Otherwise, it means buying installation cables and sockets, and possibly cable ducts or trunking...
Then also: network cabinet, patch panel, patch cables, router, switch.

Without damaging the plaster and without having empty conduit pipes present?
With cable ducts (or plastic pipes that you use for this), or surface-mounted and painted in the wall color, or behind the baseboard, or in a suspended ceiling, or through a hole in the ceiling above the attic.
There are countless possibilities. Which one suits you and appeals to your aesthetic preferences depends on the spatial conditions and your requirements for appearance.

Installing cables inside the walls will hardly be possible unless empty conduits were already installed somewhere. Surface mounting, as is common in commercial buildings, is unlikely to be used throughout the entire house. Individual cables might still be routed behind baseboards or within special baseboard channels. Whether this is sufficient for the house wiring depends on the specific house.
The remaining options are Wi-Fi or PowerLAN/Powerline.

I would prefer a version without Wi-Fi and powerline.
What exactly does "concealed installation" mean? Does it mean that I apply another layer of plaster along the cables I’m newly installing?
Does anyone possibly have pictures of these options? Then I could see if it would be visually acceptable for me 🙂
Thanks and best regards
