ᐅ Nergo Staircases from Poland – Stringer Staircase with Risers

TolentinoHello dear forum members,
Since my general contractor (GC) is a bit hesitant about requests outside their standard offerings and only wants to install an open staircase, where the steps, according to them, require walls on all sides for mounting, I first asked for a credit of 3800 EUR (about 4000 USD) if I want to arrange the staircase myself. We would like to omit a wall near the front door to create a more open entrance area and allow more natural light there. Hence the preference for a stringer staircase, ideally with risers, so the space under the stairs can be used as storage without getting dirty from above.
I will also first attend the selection appointment with the GC’s staircase builder, as they will probably install other types of stairs for an additional charge. The GC prefers to have as little to do as possible with customers' special requests.
On the other hand, I have also obtained offers for alternatives. This started with the brother of a colleague who is a metal stair builder (steel beam staircase, around 7,000–8,000 EUR (7,700–8,800 USD) — too expensive). I also asked a local wooden staircase builder (4,500–6,000 EUR (5,000–6,600 USD)).
In my house planning thread, I was actually only made aware of a staircase manufacturer named Nergo by @kaho674 as an example with a photo. I really liked the picture and yesterday, after getting my partner’s approval, I contacted this company as well. Today, the offer arrived. The staircase with dimensions roughly based on the architect’s floor plan, otherwise exactly like in the photo, is supposed to cost about 3,700 EUR (approximately 4,100 USD) including measuring, installation, and delivery. So roughly the same amount as the credit I would get, but for much more material.
I know from another source that good carpentry work is generally available in Poland, but I would like to know if anyone here has experience with this company or, at least, with carpenters/joiners from Poland working on construction projects in Germany in general. Also, what would be your estimate of the surcharge compared to an open staircase in beech with a German staircase builder if choosing a stringer staircase with risers and white staining? The staircase is only scheduled in a few weeks, and I am impatient...
Many thanks and best regards

Positive experience from ordering a wooden front door, anthracite painted, with a glass side panel – also from a Polish carpenter.

Hello dear forum members,
since my general contractor (GC) is a bit reluctant when it comes to requests outside their standard offerings and only wants to install an open staircase, where according to them the steps require walls on all sides for mounting, I first requested a credit (3800 EUR) if I want to handle the staircase myself. We would like to remove a wall next to the front door to create a more open entrance area with more natural light. Therefore, we want a stringer staircase, preferably with risers, so that the space under the stairs can be used as a storage room without dirt falling from above.
I will also first attend the material sampling with the GC’s staircase builder, because they probably can install other staircase types for an extra charge. The GC prefers to handle as few special customer requests as possible.
On the other hand, I have already obtained quotes for alternatives.
This started with the brother of a colleague’s friend who is a metal staircase builder (steel supporting beam staircase, about 7,000–8,000 EUR -> too expensive).
I also asked a local wooden staircase builder (4,500–6,000 EUR).
In my house planning thread, I was actually only made aware of a staircase manufacturer called Nergo by @kaho674 through a picture example. I really liked the photo, and yesterday, after my partner’s approval, I contacted this company.
Today the offer arrived. The staircase, with dimensions roughly based on the architect’s floor plan and otherwise exactly like in the photo, will cost just under 3,700 EUR including measurement, installation, and delivery.
So roughly the amount I would be credited, but with much more material included.
I know from another source that good carpentry work is generally available in Poland, but I would like to know if anyone here has experience with this company or at least carpentry work from Poland in German construction projects in general.
Also, what would be your estimate of the price difference compared to an open staircase in beech with a German staircase builder for a stringer staircase with risers and white staining? The stair installation is scheduled in a few weeks, and I am impatient...
Thank you very much and kind regards
Tolentino Good morning, was the staircase installed by Nergo? Are you satisfied? I am also about to decide on hiring this company. Thanks for your reply. Best regards
No, the staircase was ultimately installed by a different supplier, also from Poland but with German distribution.
The company is Weko-Treppen in Berlin. It’s possible this comment will be removed. Recently, specific product and company mentions, even in neutral or positive contexts, have frequently been deleted...
