Hello everyone,

We need to have the bathroom completed soon.

However, I’m not 100% sure what the best approach is.

The essentials are:

- Shower
- Toilet
- Bathtub
- Large sink

A small challenge is that we have a sloped ceiling, which you can see in the drawing. Maybe you have some ideas? :-)

Many thanks in advance!

Yeah, yeah, whenever someone messes up the floor plan themselves, others are supposed to work miracles through ‘creativity’... Why bother planning in detail first and then building, when you can just start building and think about it later.

... the others 😉

I don’t actually mind thinking about a small room, but lately it’s been really common that as a helper you have to ask for every important detail—it’s really tedious 🙁

Why do you think we messed something up there?

And honestly (you wanted to know): You barely have enough space for a proper standard shower, and even less for a really nice shower. The room’s dimensions clearly make it a gap filler on the upper floor, and it will look like that too. It’s way too long, and the window is in the wrong place—the back area will be very dark. Well, at least the window won’t take up usable space 🙂
If it were different, you wouldn’t be here.

Our bathroom is also rectangular and rather narrow, with similar dimensions. The door position is basically the same (just mirrored). However, we don’t have a sloping ceiling (which simplifies things) and the windows are placed differently, so that layout wouldn’t work for you. Still, just for inspiration, I’m attaching the floor plan of our bathroom.

For a T-shaped layout, I think your bathroom is clearly too narrow. I would have liked a T-shaped layout myself, but due to the bathroom’s size, we decided against it. There are also many beautiful bathrooms without a T-shape. In my opinion, a T-shaped layout definitely requires more than 3 meters (9.8 feet) in width; otherwise, it just won’t work.

I find the window placement in your bathroom quite unfortunate. The room is so long, and the window is right behind the door. I suspect that it might feel somewhat like a windowless bathroom at times, especially when the door is open. The back part of the room will be quite dark.

I think ypg’s suggestions are pretty good and I would build on those.
