Hello everyone,
A few months ago, I bought and assembled Platsa cabinets from IKEA. Now I notice that some cabinet doors don’t close flush; they slightly swing open and sometimes even open by themselves or “wobble.” It seems like they are not properly seated in the hinges or have loosened, but I’m not sure what exactly is causing this.
I have already tried adjusting the hinges according to the instructions, but the issue remains. I’m wondering if this could be a manufacturing defect, warped doors, or if they simply need readjusting over time.
Has anyone experienced the same problem and can offer advice on how to fix it long term? I’m especially interested in tips for optimal adjustment, possible replacement parts, or common issues with PLATSA doors. Thanks in advance!

For adjusting Platsa doors, I recommend the following systematic approach:
- The vertical adjustment is made via the screws on the side of the hinge, sometimes slightly hidden.
- The horizontal shift can be adjusted by a screw usually located on the side of the hinge head or near the door attachment point.
- The depth adjustment is often controlled by a screw at the front of the hinge.
The screws are generally accessible without completely removing the door. If unsure, it can help to just unhook the door briefly to gain better access.
My recommended sequence:
1. Adjust the vertical screw until the door is flush at the top and bottom.
2. Then adjust the horizontal screw so the door does not swing open or closed unintentionally.
3. Finally, adjust the depth to ensure the door fits properly against the cabinet frame.
If issues persist, it is worth checking the hinge attachment to the cabinet and, if necessary, performing minor sanding or alignment work on the door edges.
