Hello everyone,

we are currently looking for a multi-panel sliding door or room divider to separate the living/dining/kitchen area from a room with a single leaf:

Floor plan of a house: Piano room 14.01 m² (151 sq ft); Living/Dining/Kitchen 44.80 m² (482 sq ft); 2nd emergency exit from ground floor

It should not be a fully closed "wall" with perfect acoustic insulation, but it can include glass elements and should only reduce noise somewhat.

Maybe you have ideas, manufacturers, or example pictures?
I think I always use the wrong search terms on Google.

Thanks!

Solarlux offers a partition system called "Flexa." We have two folding glass walls from this manufacturer and have been very satisfied with them for almost six years.

You can use full descriptions on the big search engine, for example: "Who makes glass room dividers without fixed panels?"

I would work with a partition wall made of drywall. Something like this – but floor-to-ceiling and with continuous compartments. It looks great in real life – divides the space without fully closing it off.

I had already observed this accurately back in July ’23:

I definitely recommend you to start building now (you can also contact me about this), as waiting is currently not a reasonable option. If you go to an architect now, moving in will only be possible in 2025 due to delivery times and contractor availability, so wasting more time is completely unnecessary. After bark beetle infestations, COVID-19, and Putin, other factors will come that continuously increase the cost of building.

However, neither a musician nor an acoustician would plan it this way. Should the piano stand almost like in a "display case"?

P.S.: A small floor plan snippet like that is not very helpful; it must be considered more holistically.
