ᐅ Moving a Chimney Inside a Wall – Advantages and Disadvantages?

Hello everyone,
Our floor plan has actually been finalized for quite some time. During the structural calculations, it was noticed that the position of the chimney is unfavorable for the roof structure. It runs directly through the ridge rafters.
I had agreed with the architectural firm to move the chimney half a meter (about 20 inches). However, this morning it was realized that this is not enough and it needs to be shifted another 8 cm (3 inches), because the roofer also needs space for the metal flashing at the ridge (I’m not exactly sure what that means).
As a result, the chimney on the upper floor is now located in the wall between the two children’s bedrooms.
Apart from the fact that the chimney on the ground floor is gradually shifting further to the right, affecting the appearance, are there any disadvantages that might arise from this? For example, noise issues or something similar?
(The wall is planned as an 11.5 cm (4.5 inch) sand-lime brick wall.)

Yes, Katja, that’s quite possible.
At move-in, probably no fireplace will be installed due to lack of funds, but later there should be one similar to a Camina S12. We have not finalized our choice yet.
Why full 8-meter (26 ft 3 in) increments? Is this dimension commonly used in construction?
The drawing with the section in the initial post shows the shift of 59.5 cm (23.4 inches) as currently proposed by the architectural office.
At the moment, the chimney does not extend into the other children’s bedroom.
Thank you for the note regarding the change in roof overhang. Does that mean, for example, that the front and back would have 2 cm (0.8 inches) more roof overhang than the sides? That would change the angle and cause the top rafter to move outward slightly. Am I understanding this correctly?

When moving in, due to lack of money, there probably won’t be a fireplace installed initially, but later on, one like the Camina S12 is planned. We haven’t made a final choice yet. So, could a pipe be installed there instead of a prefabricated chimney?

Why in full 0.8-meter (2.6 feet) steps? Is this dimension common in construction? Basically, yes.

The drawing with the cutout in the first post includes the 59.5 cm (23.4 inches) shift as now proposed by the architectural office. Is that the one that also fits the roofer? Then everything is settled. Without the wall projection, only the "material transition" and the expansion joint would remain in the children’s room.

So could a pipe be used there instead of a prefabricated chimney system? What kind of pipe? What would be the purpose?
(The prefabricated chimney system is also supplied and installed by the general contractor.)

Is that the one that also fits the roofer? Exactly. Before the roofer raised objections today, the plan yesterday was to move the chimney into the corner (just against the wall). Now the roofer wants the chimney—as shown in the original post—to be pushed a bit further, into the wall. This would theoretically leave only 2.5 cm (1 inch) of sand-lime brick between the children's room and the chimney.
Based on my impression of the general contractor, I expect they will simply push the 2.5 cm (1 inch) further rather than routing out the sand-lime brick wall.
Flush and aligned would be the most practical, then either with a joint (if the surface is intended to be plaster) or instead drywall on that wall instead of plaster (if wallpapering is planned).

I would still build along the chimney! So you would prefer moving the wall instead of changing the material?
