PhoenixDH6 Sep 2013 11:07Hello everyone,
I have put together an overview of the monthly expenses for a KfW 70 house with two occupants.
Did I forget anything? Are these figures realistic?
We both work long hours and usually get home around 7 pm (19:00).
The house has a mechanical ventilation system with heat recovery and a fireplace. The heating system consists of underfloor heating throughout the ground floor and regular radiators upstairs.
The total floor area is approximately 150 square meters (1,615 square feet).

Satellite TV
Broadcasting fee
Chimney sweep
Water
Electricity
Waste disposal
Gas
Property tax / recurring fees
Liability insurance
Contents insurance
Building insurance
I’ve done this myself as well. The values seem realistic. Electricity consumption really depends on what you have and keep running. Three freezers and an 80-inch plasma TV 🙂 Then it gets tight 🙂
I have a few more points:
Do you have a ventilation system? Water softener?
Ventilation filters: 150€ per year
Salt tablets: 30€ per year
Maintenance: 200-300€ per year
Additional fuel costs for the car, or second car.
For wood, roughly calculate 90€ per cubic meter (1.3 cubic yards)
Life insurance and disability insurance?

What you listed there, I have noted as personnel costs on a different sheet 😉
Yes, controlled residential ventilation is included, the money for repairs, ... that's also listed elsewhere 😉
I’m only referring to the fixed costs, which I have probably always listed a bit higher, including the insurances, just to be on the safe side.

Well, maintenance is a fixed cost 🙂
Other fixed costs might include a gardener who trims the trees once a year, or winter snow removal services.
We plan to have a company do a deep cleaning of our windows once a year... a luxury we allow ourselves, and somehow you can also deduct some of it from taxes 🙂 (household-related craftsman services)

Be careful with insurance: The key questions are what is insured, for how much, and with which additional coverages. Our building insurance would cost nearly €400 (about $440) per year, but through a special quota, we permanently receive a 40% discount. In return, we have insured an increasing replacement value and included some extras that are usually expensive. For example, glass breakage is covered, even if
