During a house viewing in the basement of a potential purchase, we noticed a somewhat unusual discoloration in a corner of the basement room (between an exterior wall and an interior wall). Unfortunately, neither the agent nor the owner could tell us what it was.
We often have mold issues in our current apartment, but these spots look a bit different and appeared slightly damp.
However, this spot was dry, almost like a dried coffee stain.
I understand that it’s difficult to analyze based solely on a photo.
Perhaps someone might have an idea of what it could be or whether it is actually mold?
The basement did not smell damp but really had a residential climate (it was used as a medical practice).
The rest of the basement and house are in perfect condition.
The house was built in 2000.
Thank you in advance and best regards
