Hi!

I own a small attic apartment at Lake Garda. I have had it for 10 years now. And there are always issues with the roof that need to be fixed. Naturally, I am the number one sufferer in the building since I live directly under the roof. As a result, I frequently find mold spots on my walls because the roof seems to be leaking. I have to deal with that myself. The repair costs for the roof are covered by all parties. I wonder if the costs for repairing the damage inside my apartment should also be shared? What do you think about this...?

Best regards, senor 😕

Hi Sennor,

It seems strange to me that this problem keeps occurring. It can’t be that the same damage happens so often, even though, as you said, different contractors supposedly fixed it each time. 🙄
In my opinion, the costs should be shared by all apartment owners together, also to cover the damage that has occurred in your unit.

Best regards,
Mara 😉

Hi!

It is really questionable whether the craftsmen will do a good job there. It seems that the problem is actually never fully resolved. Regarding the costs, I do believe they should be shared.

Hello!

What you’re saying is making me think as well. Who knows: maybe these tradespeople actually aim to make money by repeatedly fixing a problem. That is, perhaps they are not really interested in solving the issue once and for all... 😱

Hi,

if you keep calling the same contractors every time there is damage to be repaired, you can be sure they are not very reliable. I would seriously consider having different contractors handle the work. Otherwise, this repair process might continue for years.

Best regards,
Mara 😉
