Our house has a separate apartment. The previous tenant, from when the house was not yet ours, left it in a condition that was certainly not ideal.

We recently removed the baseboards and encountered a surprise. We naively assumed they were painted white, but it turned out that, for some unknown reason, they had been sealed with silicone. This is very unusual, especially since the apartment was unoccupied for almost a year and apparently not ventilated or heated as we had expected. In any case, there is mold under the baseboards.

We measured the moisture level with a moisture meter and it was around 80. At least on the surface, the wallpaper shows no visible signs.

We plan to leave it open like this for about four weeks with proper heating and ventilation. After that, we intend to treat the area with a mold remover. Do you have any recommendations for this? Would you approach it differently or have other tips? Thanks!

Instead of expensive mold removal, try a solution of one part Danklorix to five parts water. That will kill it completely. Be careful with your clothing. Holes!

Do you mean Danklorix Mold Stop?

Isn't Danklorix actually meant for cleaning toilets?

It works for everything organic that needs to be removed. But it also affects the natural color of jeans. :-)
Affordable and extremely effective if used with proper caution. Keyword: cleaning staff poisoning with lime cleaner and bleach.

Hello

Are you absolutely sure there is no water damage?
If damage is ruled out, I would recommend heating the apartment and setting up drying equipment.
