ᐅ Moisture at the Base of the Exterior Wall – Any Experiences?

Nadini89Hello,
It seems that moisture is rising along the base of our exterior wall (the house is only 5 years old). My plan is to apply a bitumen coating on the lower section up to the edge of the paving stones, then coat the visible section of the base with a waterproof slurry before painting it.
Do you have any additional tips or experiences to share?
The dimpled membrane was only installed up to the gravel layer in some places; I probably cut it too deep when laying the paving stones. But isn’t it mainly meant to protect against mechanical damage?

But this is mainly to protect against mechanical stress, right? No, it is definitely important. Last year, we also had a moisture problem precisely in the area where the dimpled membrane was slightly neglected and the terrace meets the wall. I would also strongly recommend installing a splash guard. Water cannot properly drain or seep away where the paving meets the house.
