Hello dear community,

Finally, the time has come! We have started planning and now want to move into our own home. My husband, our little daughter, and I are currently considering what would be best for us and have already looked around a bit. We find modern prefabricated houses really interesting. There are some great options, but now we’re wondering -> Do these houses live up to their promises? Does anyone have experience they could share with us or tips on where we can find more information? I would be very grateful for any response.

Best regards, Susi84

We really wanted two separate areas for us and the children! The master bedroom should have direct access to the master bathroom, and from the bathroom you should be able to enter the hallway. Additionally, we wanted both children’s bedrooms to have direct access to the children’s bathroom, which should also connect to the hallway. Unfortunately, no one could offer us this except for one provider, who wanted nearly €30,000 more for it 😕

I don’t see any major design challenges to achieve this given enough space, or compared to conventional construction methods. €30,000 seems like a lot for this, even including structural engineering, tiling, plumbing installations/units, etc. But I’m just a regular prospective home builder...

No, it wasn’t just for the bathroom. It was the general "replanning." I also always had the feeling that they deliberately set the price high to steer us back to the standard program.

I’m also going with Cascada! I hope I’ve made the right choice and that the value for money is good. So far, the company has made a very positive impression, and I haven’t heard any major complaints from other house builders who worked with the same company (there’s always something to complain about, of course).

That feeling is not misleading, as the general contractor is focused on implementing the standard package. Changes usually come with excessive surcharges!
