Stefan2.8424 May 2020 12:46Hello everyone, the ventilation ducts run through a small storage room on the ground floor. During the interior plastering, a strip about 30cm (12 inches) wide along the pipes was left unplastered. Since this is an external wall, the question is whether it is absolutely necessary to plaster that section. I hope the picture makes clear what I mean. The adjacent wall is an internal wall.
Thank you

Thank you

If it’s just about appearance, why do people insist that exterior walls with facing brickwork are plastered beforehand? Because once the pipes are installed there, you can’t access it anymore...

With veneer walls, you wouldn’t be able to see it afterwards either, but they are still plastered behind to ensure tightness. Therefore, this should be plastered if it’s an exterior wall!
HilfeHilfe said it was only about appearance, but that’s not the case.
