Hello,
first of all: I am a construction layman. Here is my situation:
- The picture shows the bathroom in the attic

Bathroom shell with toilet frame, pipes, and green wall

- The wall is made of calcium silicate bricks
- In the center of the picture there is a mistaken drill hole that reaches all the way to the exterior-applied rigid foam insulation system (ETICS / external thermal insulation composite system), but does not damage it (visible through the hole)
- In front of this is the vanity stud wall made of drywall panels
- The drywall stud wall will be filled with insulation wool

Now the question:
Does this drill hole, if left unfilled, create a thermal bridge or is it unproblematic since the external insulation system is still intact?
- Would the airtightness then be compromised?
Thanks to everyone! 😉

That does not look like a misdrill, but rather one intended to secure the scaffolding, since the stone has chipped off on the inside.

Just have it filled with filler compound and that’s fine. The drywall installer isn’t finished yet anyway, as you can see.

It is not a thermal bridge—unless somehow a threaded rod leads into nowhere—and even then, it would probably be negligible.

Is the wall an external wall? It has to be plastered anyway to achieve airtightness in the first place.

Yes, the issue is this: there will be a drywall partition (stud wall for the washbasin), and then I won’t be able to see whether the hole has been properly filled. At the moment, I’m a bit skeptical about the attention to detail because I already had to have a major defect repaired.

Thanks so far for the responses.

Are scaffold anchors installed completely through the structural wall?
