We are currently choosing the switch series and I would like to have the Jung LS990 in matte snow white. However, our electrician advises against it because the surface apparently gets dirty very quickly.

Can anyone confirm or refute this?

I installed the Gira Event matt twice. No issues, but they have only been in use for 3-4 years each time.

We have matte switches in the office. Only the most frequently used light switch in front of the restrooms has a shiny, greasy-looking center. But many people press that one every day. Otherwise, they are very nice.

If the electrician, who has installed this series of switches several times before, advises against it because they get dirty quickly, I would take that seriously. Granted, he also has an interest in avoiding unnecessary complaints from you later on.

However, compared to you and me, he has experience from thousands of installations he has done... where in the end, the homeowners were apparently unhappy with the matte switches.

Sometimes people just want to show off their knowledge. Usually academics, but why not craftsmen as well.
Honestly, if my switches get dirty too quickly, I scold my child instead of calling the electrician...
