Hello, I am planning to start a new build with a basement. The entire structure should be solid, aiming to achieve an energy efficiency standard equivalent to a Passive House 55. Monolithic construction is preferred (ideally Poroton). Now I have many questions: 1. What wall thickness should I use? 2. If insulation is necessary, which type of block should I choose, and what thickness? Also, what kind of insulation and thickness would be best? Heating maintenance costs should be kept low. 3. What costs should I expect? I would appreciate price experiences related to the construction methods you suggest. Any help or experience reports would be greatly appreciated.

1. It depends on the building material.
2. It’s a matter of personal preference; there is no all-in-one solution.
3. Costs for what exactly? Shell construction? Walls? Complete building? Too many details are missing!

Sorry...

... I don’t think anyone can give you an answer here. For a standard finish, expect around 1200 - 1600€ per completed square meter (m²) of living space. Poroton also offers perlite-filled bricks that at least meet your requirement for a monolithic construction method.

Otherwise, you might have to consult a crystal ball 🙂
