I hope this is the right forum.
We are currently considering installing an electric sliding gate for our property. Unfortunately, I don’t have a clear overview of the manufacturers available, and I’m not even sure what the proper term for it is.
We are looking for a gate that would be installed at the end of the property and slides sideways when you approach it by car. So it would also serve as the entrance to the property.
When I google the keywords from the title, I find a few brands that I’m not familiar with. Are there any “high-quality, well-known” manufacturers here, similar to how Hörmann is known for garage doors, for example? Hörmann does have something like this, but not really for private use unless you’re into industrial design.
I would appreciate it if anyone could name one or more manufacturers.
Thank you very much and best regards
Dany

This road is only about 3m (10 feet) wide and has a slope opposite our driveway. ZHow did the construction vehicles get around there? Does the slope have a dent now?
Not yet 😀. We are currently in the final stages of negotiations.
These are the unpleasant things we have to think about... We have had many discussions with numerous home builders, and with some, we even visited the sites together with their project managers. The general consensus is: challenging but doable. Two declined because of the location, but even their (very polite) refusals were based on the fact that, at the moment, this is a luxury problem for the builders. Given the current market situation, they select projects carefully and tend to exclude those with even minor issues right away.

We have about 5m (16 feet) driveway width, and once you subtract the posts [...], I’m not sure if adding a separate pedestrian door would reduce the actual gate too much, or if the clearance would become too narrow. Your mistake is the post. You can install the swing gate with an overlapping stile. We’ve discussed this several times in the green forum, but I’m not allowed to link there here. You can message me directly; the procedure is now well known ;-)

Swing leaf, mullion, green forum 🤨?A swing leaf is what is also called a pivoting door leaf; for gates, it sometimes has to lift when swinging open; that allows pedestrian visitors to pass through. A mullion is a post-free stop on multi-leaf elements, ...Dany250 schrieb:

What exactly needs to be lifted on a sliding gate?
