Hello everyone,

I recently purchased and assembled a Malm dresser set, but I have noticed that some screws seem to become a bit loose shortly after assembly. My question is: What is the best way and with which tools can I tighten the connections on Malm furniture without damaging the material or compromising stability? Are there any specific procedures to follow, especially for this model? It would also be great if someone could explain how often it makes sense to retighten the screws and if there are certain tools that should be avoided.

Thanks in advance for your advice!

Don’t just blindly tighten every connection super tight.

I want to support this again. I was also worried about overtightening everything, so I waited two weeks and checked everything in between.

I also found it helpful to avoid strong vibrations on the furniture while it was still settling. This way, the joints aren’t unnecessarily stressed.

Often it helps if someone else tests your furniture a bit and checks where it creaks or moves – that’s what I did, and now my Malm dresser has no issues.

All the best!

Briefly on the procedure: Carefully tighten screws using the appropriate Allen key. Avoid applying excessive force. Test the furniture intermittently. It is recommended to check again after 3-5 days. This will resolve most loosenings.
