Hello everyone, I am currently looking into how to make the best use of storage space in IKEA Metod base cabinets, especially by using organizational systems. The Metod kitchen series offers various basic units, but in my opinion, interior organization is key to optimizing space and making kitchen workflows easier.
I am particularly wondering which products or systems are truly effective in avoiding common issues such as cluttered drawers or wasted storage space. Are there any recommendations, for example, for drawer inserts, adjustable dividers, or special baskets that fit particularly well into the Metod base cabinets?
It would also be interesting to know how to arrange the space so that pots, pans, and smaller kitchen utensils can be stored neatly and accessed quickly. I look forward to any tips and experiences you can share!

The challenge for me is that the drawers contain different utensils – for example, a large drawer for pots and pans and a smaller one for dish towels, sponges, and smaller kitchen tools.I can fully understand that you are looking for a solution that is as individual and practical as possible. Especially with mixed storage, it’s important to understand the needs and workflow in the kitchen. Have you considered using removable inserts for the smaller tools? This way, the area can be cleaned or reorganized quickly.
Additionally, I can only recommend paying attention to the height of the side walls in the box drawers. They should be high enough to prevent items from falling out but not too high, so you don’t lose too much space. Another tip: to improve organization, colored or labeled inserts can be helpful, especially if multiple people use the kitchen.
I would be interested to know how often the storage layout is changed and if some utensils need to be particularly accessible. This definitely influences the design of the different zones.
