Hello
We have a new build that will be finished soon.
Unfortunately, the developer did not offer an in-wall conduit.
Can we install it ourselves afterwards?
Our wall consists of 15cm (6 inches) sand-lime brick plus insulation.
Our TV wall is the exterior wall.
If yes, what would you recommend?
How wide and deep should it be?
1 power cable, 4 HDMI cables, and 1 USB cable need to fit inside the conduit.

If you’re planning something messy like that (cutting 6cm deep grooves into a 15cm (6 inch) thick exterior wall shared with a neighbor), I would get a written guarantee from the construction company ensuring compliance with soundproofing. Otherwise, your neighbor might sue you, or you could quickly become really annoyed by them, their children, and their sound system...For us, that’s actually the exterior wall, not the shared wall with the neighbor.
I just wanted to know how their wall was in terms of structural integrity, since the developer handled that.

@Pacmansh do you know the dimensions of the flush-mounted conduit and how thick the wall to the neighbors is?Unfortunately not. I think it’s just an empty conduit, and he mentioned it was quite tricky to get the plug through. So the diameter can’t be very large. I believe the walls were double-layered, 2x15cm (2x6 inches).Gooosee159 schrieb:
@Tassimat what solution did you choose? Also an in-wall cable duct like that?Yes, but a DIY version using a 50mm (2 inch) PVC pipe. That might be set too deep for your situation.Maybe just buy something very shallow and install it directly inside the wall? I can’t imagine a cable duct being structurally significant in practice.

How flat and wide should it be?
Do you possibly have a direct product recommendation?

What would you recommend?Sorry, I don’t have a product recommendation. I also had a hard time with this back then, which is why I went with my "quick fix" solution using the HT pipe.Gooosee159 schrieb:
My wife would like to have a lowboard underneath to place decorations or other items.Maybe your wife could put a 3D model of the Brandenburg Gate or the Statue of Liberty there; it works great for threading cables through. 😉
