Hello,
is it worth having a maintenance contract for a residential ventilation system? And what is a reasonable cost? I have five units in the apartment. Or can this be skipped by regularly replacing the filters myself? How often should the filters be changed, and are there more affordable filter options than those from the manufacturer?
Thanks for your help. Regards, Dani

Why would you build a house with a garden when there are so many dangerous things outside,Because as someone with allergies, it’s fantastic to live in a clean house during the right pollen season. The first pollen is already on the way.Oh, and the allergy sufferer does go outside into the garden as well 😉

Daniela Sch.11 Feb 2022 07:35We have the Helios controlled residential ventilation EC 45, and for the house with 4 letters, a seller offered me the twin filters with a discount... I will test them. Other buyers have had good experiences with this filter.

Daniela Sch.11 Feb 2022 07:44Since June, the ventilation has been running continuously. Over the summer, I kept everything open to allow drying and off-gassing (paint, adhesives, furniture...). Actually, I would like to turn off the ventilation during the summer. Is that not a good idea?
Right, not a good idea. Keep it running on a low setting, even during holidays. Otherwise, moisture will condense inside the pipes, creating a breeding ground for germs and mold. The horror stories about moldy ventilation systems probably come exclusively from people who tried to save electricity and turned off the ventilation during holidays or summer.

However, I feel there might be some misunderstanding about the purpose and function of the ventilation system, or your system might not be working properly...!?
The system is designed to completely exchange the air inside the building within a few hours and provide fresh air...! Opening windows can be seen as support or a supplement, but essentially it is an "unnecessary" action.
Edit: Especially during the night hours, when people are all in their bedrooms, continuous air exchange is a major advantage—regardless of winter or summer!
