Hello,
I hope I am posting in the right section.
I have a question: What type of mailbox would you recommend?
A standard mailbox on posts or a mailbox with a parcel box?
What are the advantages and disadvantages of a parcel box like that?
Do you have a parcel box as well, and could you share your experiences?

I don’t see any disadvantage if couriers use the box without ringing. I actually think it’s a good thing. It’s more convenient for the courier and you are not disturbed.I don’t either, but the original poster says they want the box to be used only when they are away.I looked at many options, but most that were still somewhat within the size and price range were way too small at the deposit slot.
At most, a DHL M package could fit in there, so the size doesn't really help me much.
Just have it near the parcel locker and that's it... a regular mailbox is enough and also affordable.

In our case, they leave the stuff in the garage. No problems. Is your garage open?
For us, it varies a lot. DHL either delivers directly to the door or takes the package to the local branch. Their drivers don’t seem to be under much pressure.
Amazon uses their own drivers who leave packages on the terrace or by the front door if we’re not home. They usually ring the bell first and often deliver in the afternoon or evening when we are often at home.
The worst are DPD drivers—they just leave packages without permission, even though we have explicitly stated in writing that they must not leave parcels unattended. It’s almost always the same delivery person who doesn’t even ring the bell. I’ve told her several times to leave packages with a neighbor if we’re not home. She says she doesn’t have to. Complaints don’t help. We try to avoid DPD when possible; if a seller only offers DPD shipping, I sometimes contact the seller directly.
We had considered using a parcel locker but dismissed the idea—it’s really not necessary.

The parcel locker should only be used for packages when we are not at home. FrankChief schrieb:
Right now, I don’t know if the neighbors are home during the day to receive deliveries or if they are even willing to do so. It’s the same for them as it is for you. Everyone occasionally needs sugar, eggs, or someone to check that everything is okay, including picking up the mail or watering the flower pots.

So would you say it’s better not to have a parcel locker? If you can’t afford a butler or caretaker and don’t fully trust anyone, then decide what you actually need.
With our immediate neighbors (if necessary, I also provide the delivery service with the neighbor’s address by email) or I change the delivery location last minute by email.
If I miss this and we are on vacation, the delivery person will walk around the house and check everything.
My advice: don’t bother with it.
