I hope I am posting in the right section.
I have a question: What type of mailbox would you recommend?
A standard mailbox on posts or a mailbox with a parcel box?
What are the advantages and disadvantages of a parcel box like that?
Do you have a parcel box as well, and could you share your experiences?

If you are not home at the usual times -> send everything to the parcel locker

We don’t have one because we don’t need it. DHL, DPD, and Hermes have permission to leave packages on the terrace.

What bothered me about the parcel box was that it basically gives an automatic permission to leave packages unattended. Admittedly, nothing usually goes wrong, especially in rural areas, but you are essentially relying on the honesty of the delivery drivers. If they claim to have left something in the box, then take it back with them, and you report that it never arrived, you no longer have legal recourse against the courier. This isn’t a big issue if you only occasionally order small items, but for insured packages with valuable contents, I would always have them sent to a post office branch or a parcel locker. That would not be convenient for me on a daily basis, though—I’d find it more complicated than not having a parcel box at all.

I have a question: which mailbox would you recommend to us? I can only speak for myself, but I find a parcel locker about as useful as a fifth wheel. Either I’m home and just have the package (with permanent permission given to DHL) left on the terrace, hand it to a neighbor, or have it delivered to the nearest locker (whether DHL or Amazon). For it to be truly practical (for me), the locker would have to be quite large.
In the end, the very high additional cost for a box that’s mostly not needed isn’t worth it to me.
Conclusion: Nice to have, but at best number 735 on my list for the next house build.
