Hello everyone,
I am planning to equip our new build with an LWZ 504.
I have noticed that opinions about buffer tanks vary quite a bit.
Currently, I am leaning towards leaving out the buffer tank, since we don’t necessarily need the cooling function through the underfloor heating (it has worked well without it for the past 30 years), and these tanks generally tend to reduce efficiency.
However, I have also read—though not specifically about Stiebel Eltron—that some heat pumps can have issues when using ERR (which is basically required) if there is no buffer tank installed.
What are your experiences and opinions on this?
Best regards,
Roppo

Supplement to the summer cassette
The summer cassette automatically switches the ventilation on and off during the summer. It turns off when the outdoor air temperature is higher than the indoor air temperature and turns on when the outdoor air temperature is at or below the indoor air temperature.

PS: And regarding subsidies. I have read several times now that people did not receive the BAFA subsidy even though their application was submitted on time. In these cases, it apparently failed due to the seasonal performance factor. So, what specifications should the heat pump meet to ensure that I definitely qualify for the subsidy?
Can anyone help me with the annual performance factor? Can I just provide a standard value, meaning is there a fixed subsidy for the 504 model regardless of the installation conditions? Or do I need to calculate and prove something...?
In the BAFA online application, it already states that air-to-water heat pumps are not eligible for funding – which apparently applies to most cases. But many have obviously already received funding for the LWZ 504.
I’m not quite sure how to proceed...
