Hello dear forum,

We plan to start building our house the year after next and are currently looking for companies that offer a concept similar to Luxhaus. We have also come across Engelhardt and Geissbauer.

Do you have any other suggestions for companies that provide vapor-permeable walls or have a similar approach?

Best regards

It’s simple by spending time in other houses / show homes and focusing on the feeling of comfort. We noticed that many new houses feel “stuffy,” like being in a sealed container.

During my many visits to show homes, I also wondered why they don’t simply ventilate extensively outside of visiting hours. “Sealed container” fits well, and somehow it feels musty. For my husband and me, it was hard to understand why almost every sales representative still tried to convince us of the benefits of a ventilation system.
However, there are also home builders who build exclusively with ventilation systems and have described competitors who build without ventilation systems as “unreliable.”

However, we also met homeowners who had mechanical ventilation systems with heat recovery (all stone houses). We experienced excellent indoor air quality, with the feeling of being outside in fresh air without an open window, or the unpleasant smell of stale pets, food, and sweat – in those cases, you would have wished for an open window!

What I want to say is: with or without mechanical ventilation, it does not replace 1. the need for regular ventilation and 2. you obviously also need to operate it correctly!

In show homes, there were too many people present to get a clear sense of the air quality (movement, perfumes, etc.), not to mention that these houses were not lived in like normal homes – no occupants, plants, cooking, or open patio doors, only frequent opening of the front door – which is not representative at all, right? Likewise, it was not possible to test noise perception related to the ventilation outlets.
