Hello,

our KfW 70 house includes the ventilation system from Lunos. Normally, this is installed by the general contractor. However, when I checked the prices for the individual units and saw that Lunos now offers a KNX control system (meaning I can omit the voltage converter and the switch), I considered installing the units myself.

Has anyone done this before? Is there anything special to consider? I plan to use the polystyrene module that can be built in directly, with the duct and fan installed behind it.

As far as I know, the duct should have a slight slope outward to allow any water to drain. It must be glued into the polystyrene and then wired normally to the KNX controller. But is there anything else I should be aware of?

Has anyone had any experience with the system?

Well, first you should mention whether the rest of your house is also wired with KNX... if you are planning to install everything yourself anyway, why not go for a centralized system?

Otherwise... just have your electrician install everything and do the electrical connection yourself... there are many, many mistakes that can be made with wall chases if you’re not experienced...

Yes, the house will be fully KNX. A wall breakthrough is not necessary! There is a suitable polystyrene block for the system, or a 160mm (6.3 inches) core drill can simply be done.

Well, if you feel confident about it... I'm not really a fan of decentralized systems in new construction, but it's better than nothing.

However, you must follow the manufacturer's installation instructions very carefully... otherwise, you'll end up with lots and lots of holes in the wall afterwards...

What do you mean by many, many holes in the wall?
