Hello,

I would like to control all the roller shutters in my new build either via a touch display or Alexa.
The roller shutters have elero motors.

The window manufacturer suggested Loxone, but for 17 roller shutters, the cost comes to €4000.

Can anyone recommend more affordable alternatives?

That depends on the manufacturer, as each has its own millimeter measurements, but around 65mm (2.6 inches).

Are there any similar systems to Bosch that you would recommend?

Most are not recommended because the majority are proprietary, leading to vendor lock-in. I would look into Z-Wave or EnOcean if you do not want a wired solution.

The simplest solution would probably have been using Geiger air motors...
For us, with 11 windows, including blinds and 3 roller shutters, it cost 10,000 Euros.

Apart from the fairly straightforward installation process.

I think I'll go with the Bosch system.
I just need to test whether the signal passes through the concrete ceiling and covers a distance of 10m (33 feet).

A quick additional note regarding the so-called DIY solution using Shelly 2.5. I have installed these devices myself in some cases, and they have been running completely stable for several years. I also did not encounter any problems with the wiring.

One advantage is, of course, the price, but the accompanying app also works great. Integration with other smart home systems is very easy (MQTT), and if you don’t like the installed software, you can flash a different one (e.g., Tasmota). This way, it ultimately doesn’t matter if the manufacturer stops support, whether that be updates, the cloud service, or both.

Additionally, no special adapters are required for the push buttons or switches since you use the existing ones.
