Hello.
I finally registered here because I can’t make progress with my research alone and need the combined knowledge of all IKEA fans here.
Between October and December 2004, we bought a large white sofa at IKEA Halle/Leipzig. It is the perfect family cuddle sofa since all the covers (back cushions, seat cushions, and one large cover for the frame) are fully washable. Unfortunately, after 8 years of constant use, the covers are completely worn out, and we would like to buy new ones. However, to do so, we need the model name, which neither my husband nor I know.
Our sofa looks almost like the currently available Kivik 3-seat sofa (item number: 098.741.58), but the dimensions don’t quite match. Our model is 240 cm (95 inches) wide, while the KIVIK is only 228 cm (90 inches); our model is 100 cm (39 inches) deep, KIVIK only 95 cm (37 inches). Other measurements of our sofa: backrest width 24 cm (9.5 inches), backrest height 63 cm (25 inches); seat height currently 47 cm (19 inches) (possibly higher when purchased, as it’s now "well worn").
Inside the cover, I found a tag: it said ALLEBY 15151, Made in Poland. When I enter this in G....., unfortunately, nothing matching our sofa appears.
Maybe someone can help. I would appreciate any tips.
Until then, Sabine

At that time, there were occasional promotional items available for a short period, all bearing the name ALLEBY. 15151 is the manufacturer's identification number.

Okay, that probably means it will be difficult to identify the model.
Therefore, I am considering option B. As I mentioned, our sofa looks like the currently available Kivik 3-seater, just a bit larger. Now, IKEA offers covers for the Kivik. Does anyone know how well they fit? I hope they will still fit over our slightly larger sofa. And would IKEA accept a return if the cover doesn’t fit after an attempted fitting?
Have a nice evening

Hi,

IKEA accepts returns of goods within 3 months if they are in the original packaging and accompanied by a receipt, offering a full refund. In most stores, the policy for opened items is as follows: please try to open the package with the cover as carefully as possible, and if the item doesn’t fit, repack it properly. Usually, IKEA will then refund the full amount as a goodwill gesture. If this is not possible—for example, if the packaging is heavily damaged, or the cover is soiled or defective—IKEA reserves the right to deduct up to 50% of the original price, since the product can no longer be resold as new.

To be absolutely sure, you should ALWAYS check directly with your local store about the conditions for returning opened items.

Thank you.
Then I will just give ordering from IKEA a try.
