Hello,
I have a big problem.
About 6 weeks ago, I bought a Bjursta display cabinet.
I wanted to place the cabinet in a niche in my new apartment, but it turns out it’s too large. The cabinet is still in its original packaging, and the boxes are undamaged. Unfortunately, I lost the receipt during the move and can’t find it anywhere. I usually keep all my receipts, but of course, I can’t find the one I actually need now 🙁
I can’t use the cabinet anymore, so I want to return it. I have already been to IKEA, but they refuse to accept the return without a receipt! I paid in cash and without an IKEA Family card, so they can’t verify whether I even paid for the cabinet. How am I supposed to sneak the cabinet past the checkout?!?
I don’t want to sell it on eBay or similar because I wouldn’t get anywhere near what I paid, and as everyone knows, moving costs a lot of money 😕
Does anyone have a receipt for a Bjursta display cabinet in black-brown for 259 euros?
I’m also willing to pay for it; I would be so grateful if someone could help me 🙂
Oh, and the receipt should not be older than 3 months, to avoid any problems 😉
Thanks in advance!

Jaegerundsammlerin21 Jul 2012 08:22Hello,
Thank you for your response.
I didn’t know that there can sometimes be price differences between various IKEA stores.
I definitely have no intention of cheating or scamming anyone.
But since I feel like I am being portrayed as a fraud here, I’d rather drop the subject! (at least that’s how I feel)
I will now sell the display cabinet on eBay; it’s better than leaving the money unused in the basement.

Thank you for your reply.
I didn’t know there could sometimes be price differences between the various IKEA branches.
I definitely have no intention of cheating or taking advantage.
But since I’m being portrayed here as a fraud, I’d rather not discuss this topic anymore! (at least that’s how I feel)
I will now sell the display cabinet on eBay; better than keeping the money in the basement. What you mean or think and what is legally the case are two different things.
I must say, personally, I would also find your approach inappropriate, even though I don’t consider you a fraud (which, by the way, no one has claimed!).

Maverick185423 Jul 2012 18:20Thank you IKEANER,
Dear hunter and gatherer,
I did not imply that you were a scammer or anything like that, but only tried to explain why IKEA is not required to accept returns without a receipt.
If you felt that way, I am sorry and I apologize for that.
