Hello,

search for Ricchetti RESERVE online. We came across it through a tile supplier. You need to see the original to appreciate it. We decided on Betulla (birch). It offers a truly perfect wood look with the advantages of tiles – especially beneficial for underfloor heating.

The prices varied last autumn between €43 and up to €60. Sizes: 20 x 80cm (8 x 31½ inches) and 13 x 80cm (5 x 31½ inches).

Surprising effect: many of our friends initially thought we had installed wood parquet flooring.

Best regards...

Thank you, Cascada, for the information. I will take a look at the tiles from the mentioned brand. Your positive review reassures me that the parquet tiles are visually well made and look authentic.

Thank you and good luck,

Hello Cascada,

We also chose wood-look tile, specifically parquet-style tiles, for our house. Now that everything is finished, I have to say that was definitely the right choice. It looks absolutely stunning. I’ll have to upload a photo sometime.

Our tile is the 3000 roble. We installed both sizes alternately, which I think makes it look even more natural.

I hope you find the perfect tile for your project.

Regards,
Robert

Hello Tauben1a,

Yes, logistics was not an issue. The tiles were delivered on a pallet by freight service. The driver even helped push them into my garage (I helped with pushing as well, they were quite heavy).

Of course, the shipping costs are not cheap due to the weight, but overall, it was still significantly cheaper for me than buying from a local retailer, and I had the convenience of home delivery. For my 45 m² (484 ft²), I paid about 90 € in shipping costs. That’s roughly 2 € per m² (0.19 per ft²). However, I saved over 15 €/m² (1.39 per ft²) on the tiles themselves, so a total of 675 € saved on the tiles. Even after subtracting the transport costs, it was still clearly more economical.

This approach really makes sense mainly for expensive tiles. For tiles at the level of big-box stores, meaning under 10 €/m² (0.93 per ft²), the shipping costs tend to be relatively high compared to the tile price.

Best regards,
Robert
