We are considering which type of flooring would be most suitable for a new build with underfloor heating.

Tiles in the bathroom, definitely. But what about the hallway and kitchen? Tiles again, or would vinyl flooring be better? For the living room, guest room, and bedroom, I was thinking of vinyl flooring. Or would that feel too cold since, with underfloor heating, you wouldn’t use carpets anyway?

Have you ever asked? Have you read the answers and still have specific questions?

We have vinyl flooring in the kitchen. I really like that it is waterproof and easy to maintain. However, it is very prone to scratches (even though it wasn’t cheap!). If I had to choose again, I would go with tiles.

Vinyl is always a poor choice. It feels artificial, is very delicate, and the underfoot experience is not really pleasant.

It’s better to choose tiles instead.

I see every day how the children (and of course we do too) keep sliding the dining chairs back and forth. I'm glad we have tiles on the ground floor and not vinyl. I don't even want to imagine how it would look with vinyl now.

Even though there is already a thread on this: regarding scratch resistance and texture, it really depends on the specific product. Ours is very durable. However, I tend to prefer tiles.
