Hello everyone,
we are building a single-family house with facing brickwork. The variety of options is huge and at the same time challenging, as the overall effect can usually only be guessed from the small sample pieces. The color of the mortar joints also has a significant impact. Currently, our manufacturers to choose from are Röben and Steencentrale Roxane. Still, we have been trying for some time to identify or get closer to the following facing brick—specifically the manufacturer and product name. Maybe you have an idea or a good tip for us?
I also contacted the construction company where I got the picture from (PBE-Massivhaus), but never received a reply. Do you know this brick or one that looks very similar?
Thank you for your support!

Hello,
have you already looked at the Moorbrand sand yellow-multicolor by Röben? I think it closely matches your picture and would also be from the right manufacturer. It’s also important which jointing mortar you choose for the cladding brick, as that can often completely change the appearance of a brick.
Good luck with your search; I know very well how long it can take to choose the right cladding.
Best regards, Teyla

P.S. I wouldn’t choose a facing brick just by looking at a photo or a small sample at the building materials supplier, as it always looks different over a large area.
We picked our favorites from the common manufacturers and requested reference addresses, then visited them—sometimes several addresses for the same brick—because depending on the house style and mortar color, the overall appearance changed.
Some bricks looked absolutely terrible in person, and I would never have chosen them for my own house. So it’s definitely a good idea to see them beforehand!

Hi Teyla,
thank you for your reply! Yes, we have already done exactly that and visited several from Röben. Among others, the Moorbrand sand yellow-multicolor, as we also thought it was very close to what we want. But after seeing the brick on three different houses, we realized that it is too yellow for us and not what we are looking for. Currently, we are leaning towards the Moorbrand clay-multicolor with white / light mortar. Do you happen to know it as well?
Best regards

Hi sunny,
We also looked at the sand yellow, clay, and peat bricks from Röben and really liked them all. However, since we wanted something a bit more colorful, only the multicolored peat brick was left, but our neighbor already has that one, so we decided to go with a brick from the company Wienerberger.
For a light red brick, I would definitely choose a light-colored mortar. In my opinion, the darker or cement-colored mortars suit darker bricks better.
By the way, we have mortar in beige-white, which does not look quite as stark as a pure white mortar.
Can your builder only choose between the two manufacturers, or is there a reason why you are limited to those two?
