Hello everyone,
I am looking for a very specific bench.
About 6 weeks ago, I was at IKEA Regensburg, where I saw a white wooden dining set with a white wooden bench. On the white bench lay cushions and a fur throw. It looked quite cozy. The bench was placed against the wall.
Unfortunately, I didn’t check the name... and since it takes me 1 hour and 30 minutes by car to get to IKEA Regensburg, I am hoping for your help.
So, it was white and had drawers. I can rule out the benches listed under the section stools & benches on IKEA’s website.
While browsing the IKEA website, the only item that came close to my memory was the Hemnes TV bench. But is the Hemnes TV bench really suitable as a seating bench? Could that be it? I’m puzzled.
Unfortunately, I don’t have much more information.
Many thanks for your help.

Otherwise, I could definitely imagine using it as a bench. According to the IKEA website, however, it only supports 50 kg (110 lbs). Therefore, some reinforcements would need to be installed to use it as a bench. Whether it’s worth converting an almost €200 dresser for that purpose is something everyone has to decide for themselves.

Nayla_10685 Dec 2013 20:46Hi,
based on your statement and the layout, you have looked at the Ikea "Chalet Collection."
Try searching Google for it. I found a picture where, as the IKEA expert correctly guesses, the Hemnes daybed is shown, dressed with cushions and blankets. Maybe you will find the bench you are looking for there.
Best regards

Maverick18546 Dec 2013 06:12Well, there is a big difference between the Hemnes daybed and a TV stand, especially since you already mentioned that the Hemnes TV unit leans in that direction...
And in terms of size, I don’t think the daybed (as attractive as it may be as a bench) is really suitable.
Dear Nayla, dear IKEA expert...

Dear Nayla, dear IKEA expert...
Thank you very much for your answers.
@Maverick1854: 50 kg (110 lbs) is really very little. It might look like it... but I also think, if a TV unit is only designed for such a low weight, I wouldn’t decorate it as a bench in the store.
@Nayla: Is there also a bench available for the chalet collection? Unfortunately, I couldn’t find one.
@Nayla/IKEA expert: I can rule out the daybed. There was no mattress and no backrests. But thanks for the tip.
Maybe I’ll have to make the long trip after all and hope that it's still displayed like that.
