Strahlemann-6921 May 2016 21:53Hello everyone,
I have a Metod cabinet carcass with a depth of 37cm (15 inches), width of 40cm (16 inches), and height of 80cm (31 inches). I want to convert it into a recycling bin for deposit bottles, but I’m out of ideas.
I was thinking about a hinged door with a porthole to throw the bottles in and some kind of holder for a bag.
Or attaching the door at the bottom with a piano hinge, so it opens like a dishwasher door with a stopper at the top.
Or something else...
The cabinet stands together with its 80cm (31 inches) wide counterpart in the kitchen, in the former niche of the night storage heater. I didn’t want to waste that space, especially since it’s not a thermal bridge (it connects to the conservatory).
Any suggestions?

Strahlemann-6928 May 2016 18:38Thanks Robi for your tip, but I don’t want the full bottles—I need the empty ones where you can “insert” something.
Now I have THE idea for myself!!
I have a cabinet carcass that is 40cm (16 inches) wide and 37cm (15 inches) deep. At the bottom, a HIGH drawer, and at the top, I attached the metal leg LIMHAMN to the door with dowels. This way, I can clamp a bag with magnets. So far, the idea sounds good...

but...
A complete door measuring 40x80cm (16x31 inches) would have to be attached to only ONE high drawer, which is then pulled out. I’ve now bought a door, but it has NO pre-drilled holes for the drawer, only the two holes for the hinges on the side. Did I make a mistake, or do I have to measure and drill the necessary holes myself afterwards *panic*
Or is there a 40x80cm (16x31 inches) front with pre-drilled holes for drawers at the bottom? OK, I could buy two 40x40cm (16x16 inches) pieces and connect them with fasteners, but I don’t like that idea.
Any tips?
