ᐅ Looking for a wireless intercom system with local power supply

Hello everyone,
I would like to install a mailbox with a doorbell and intercom at the entrance to our property, but I really don’t want to run any cables out there. My requirements are:
  • 3 doorbell buttons
  • DECT connection for the intercom linked to the FritzBox
  • local power supply (battery + solar panel)

The distance in a straight line between the intercom and the FritzBox is about 35 m (115 feet), but the cabling route would be around 100 m (330 feet).
The second-best option would be to only run power there, moving the “doorbell mailbox” to the opposite side of the street, where it is somewhat less convenient.

Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!

Why not use a large hand-operated bell and ride there on a folding bike?

A bell and a tin can telephone would be a nice solution. I have already considered the military field telephone FFOFZB with a hand crank, but it would probably get stolen.
A folding bike is too exhausting for the slope. A hillside lift is planned as a DIY project, but not this year anymore.

Sorry, what on earth do you want to do with CAT8 cables? Connect a data center to a brick gatepost just like that?!

If you’re installing new cabling today, you’d go with Cat7 or just Cat8, depending on price and availability.

Data security / transmission speeds – it still remains an intercom system without requirements for security or high availability.

Guys, you totally misunderstand the issue. I would design this intercom system according to the BSI IT baseline protection catalog, secure it with double redundancy, and subject it to an audit as critical infrastructure under BSI standards. Business Continuity Management is mandatory here anyway. But it’s nice that “hampshire” has found such a simple solution for himself (where does he even live???).

This has to be satire. Tell me about the security vulnerability of the a/b solution that isn’t connected to the internet. Feel free to use technical terms.
Malicious actors who show up in person to harm us don’t need a doorbell wire as a “vulnerability.”

Yes, it was. You have found a good solution.

Hello @hampshire, we are currently considering the intercom system. I find your solution interesting for us as well. How satisfied are you with the Auerswald 90636? Is there anything you particularly like or dislike about it?
