ᐅ Looking for a Recommended Lime Stabilizer

I have very hard water here and would like to purchase a water conditioner. As far as I know, there are two types of water conditioners: electric-powered and salt-based. The electric devices are cheaper but are said to have a shorter lifespan. Salt-based systems are more expensive, but supposedly more effective and also last longer. Based on your experience, which type of device would you recommend?
