I want to avoid using supermarket water filters (Brita, etc.) in our new house. First, these filters are said to sometimes introduce more bacteria into the water than they remove (...), and secondly, I find the pitcher and refilling process annoying.
There are several options available. Friends of ours have a three-stage under-sink system with a separate faucet that provides purified water for cooking or drinking (we have always drunk tap water!).
Then there are also professional pre-filtration devices that are installed directly at the main water supply line entering the house.
Question: What do you think about these? Regardless of the fact that our tap water is already very good. I am referring to concerns like allergies, medication residues, and other particles that ideally shouldn’t be in the water or the body.
Can you share any insights on this?
