Dear members,

As I already mentioned in the introduction thread, my wife, our 20-month-old daughter, and I are about to start building our house. We have purchased a plot of land, and the plans have already been prepared by the architect and approved by the authorities. Since we are not working with a general contractor, I have to handle many things myself.

Now, regarding the topic: yesterday we visited Heinze to choose the bathroom fixtures. It is quite a large bathroom (16sqm (172 sqft)) and we want a freestanding bathtub. I would like to know if you can recommend specific models or brands.

Our current favorite is Hoesch Namur. Unfortunately, I have heard little to nothing about this company and am unsure whether Villeroy & Boch or Duravit might be the better choice.
I also liked Duravit’s Luv series and Villeroy & Boch’s Theano as well as their New Generation series.

Does anyone here have a freestanding bathtub and can recommend a particular model or advise against certain brands or models?
Thank you in advance for any tips!

Best regards,
Matthias

Thanks for your input! I agree with you that comfort is more important than appearance. Ideally, it would be both. Right now, I’m switching from Hoesch Namur to Hoesch Cabo because the latter seems a bit more comfortable.

Has anyone here ever sat in the Cabo by any chance?

One person prefers one bathtub, another prefers a different one. Some like to sit reclining, others upright.

We don’t know what you like. We don’t know what your wife likes either.

It also depends on your height and whether two people want to use it at the same time. My bathtub would probably be too small/short for many, but it fits me.

Visually, there were a few similar ones where, for example, my head/neck while lying down was positioned so awkwardly against the edge that it felt uncomfortable.

There’s no other way—you’ll need to take the time and try lying in them yourself.

These "egg chairs" as well as the Cabo look good, but they are completely impractical. You really have to push yourself with them; they are so uncomfortable that the bathtub ends up just gathering dust.

Thank you for your help! Today I tried out some beds, first the Cabo, and I agree with you, it is very uncomfortable! Then I tried two others from RF, and finally the La Senia from Hoesch. Of all the ones I tried, the La Senia was by far the most comfortable.
