Hello everyone,
we keep running into questions about the size of the bedroom and the walk-in closet during our planning. Somehow, we are still not completely satisfied with the size of the bedroom. We are worried it might end up too small. On the other hand, we don’t spend most of our time there. It should feel a bit more spacious than it does now (10.5m² (113 sq ft)).
We are considering moving the walk-in closet wall a bit further north to create more space between the bed and the wall. How have you solved this in your homes? How large are your bedrooms? Do you also have a walk-in closet, or have you found other clever solutions?
By the way, we intentionally placed the walk-in closet on the north side because there is a street running along there, so it keeps us a bit further away.
I am grateful for any ideas

We also have an entrance in the basement and a similar layout. You can check out my planning thread. But your hallway is way too large. We have just under 13 sqm (140 sq ft) and it already feels huge... Why don’t you move the garage to the back to eliminate that awkward corner in the granny flat? You won’t get much use out of that "mini home gym"... Somehow, it’s all a bit off... Why not have two entrances? One specifically for the granny flat? And why place the staircase exactly there? Isn’t that the west side??? Sorry, but it doesn’t make much sense to me. Wouldn’t it be better to position the staircase more toward the north or east? The granny flat could be down in the bottom right corner (southwest?), with the entrance closer to the garage... I’d rethink it all once more... Sorry...
Hi,
we wanted a generous entrance so it doesn’t feel like you’re entering a basement. As mentioned, we would move the wall of the fitness room to the right, then the room will be just under 10m² (108 sq ft), which should be sufficient.
This automatically makes the hallway smaller. We might be able to slightly enlarge the separate unit as well. Unfortunately, the bend in the separate unit is due to the floor area ratio and the zoning plan. We had to do it that way; originally, we planned it differently. Regarding the staircase: it is located on the north side. The storage and building services are in the northeast. The separate unit is exactly in the southwest area, and the fitness room is on the west side. So, I think this setup makes sense.
