Hello,

we are about to build our single-family house and are currently considering the right type of brick.
A mason friend recommended the Poroton T8 to us. Has anyone had experience with this brick? How satisfied are you with its thermal insulation, stability, and soundproofing?

The Poroton T8 is, of course, sufficiently stable; otherwise, this block would not be sold as a masonry unit.
Its insulation performance is also adequate; when it comes to exterior walls, it is important to be aware of the building physics requirements you prioritize. The better the sound insulation of an exterior wall, the worse the thermal insulation—and vice versa.
If you want both—good soundproofing and good thermal insulation—it is best to choose a solid masonry block combined with an external thermal insulation composite system (ETICS).
However, since not everyone wants an insulated exterior shell on their house, the T8 represents a good compromise.

Yes, this Poroton T8 is quite good and is frequently used. The thermal insulation is sufficient, and the soundproofing is also effective. This block is simply recommendable.

I have already worked extensively with Poroton T8, and I like this building material. For me, it is the perfect brick, and in the future, I would not want to use anything else.

I'm not quite that enthusiastic, as this building material leaves something to be desired in terms of sound insulation. However, it is easy to work with and the thermal insulation is also acceptable.

I am a bit more relaxed about this than Kurt; the sound insulation is sufficient for me. I have had very good experiences with Poroton T8, which is a good building material. For me, thermal insulation is the key factor, and it is well provided.
